League of Legends ( LoL )

League of Legends (LoL) is a very competitive videogame type MOBA, created by Riot Games. It’s the most played game in the world (in general) and one of the most played E-Sports.

The game was inspired by a popular map customed for Warcraft III, Defense of the Ancients: Allstars (it is abbreviated with the initials of DotA) designed by Steve “Guinsoo” Feak and Steve Pandragon Mescon, which turn is based on stage of StarCaft (Aeon of Strife).

On 2005,  it wasn’t only an idea, it had a shape. Finally, on april of 2009 the game was on beta on Microsoft Windows.
Later, they opened to the public one beta for OS X, leaving for a little time the project.
This beta was upgraded by the players of the game, making possible to play an advanced version of League of Legends. Also It’s possible to play it with the GNU/Linux System through apps made by the players. In October of 2012, the game had 70 million  players registred.

In the game, the players group on two teams of 3 or 5 players, and every player controls a different champion (on may 2014 there are more than 120 champions and Riot creats more and more every short time). Every team starts in the opposite corner of the map in one area called Base, where is the Nexus.
The objective of the game is to destroy the Nexus of the enemy team. To destroy it, you must reach the enemy base destroying towers and inhibitors.
There are 3 lanes, one in the top, one in the middle and one in the bottom, and they are often called top, mid and bot. On every lane, there are 3 towers and 1  inhibitor.

Every player wins experience killing minions ( NPC’s that appear along the game and attack the enemy team) of the opposite team or defeat the neutral monsters in the jungle, spreaded around all the map. Killing monsters, minions, champions of the other team and destroying the enemy towers provides gold necessary to buy items that increase the states of your champion, and make the battles easier.
